In this lesson we were shown some of the basics of Premiere Pro, using some footage given to us of a student opening and leaving a door. We started out by just opening the folder of footage in Premiere and dragging and dropping the first piece of footage to the start of the timeline. Then, by putting the cursor on either end of the footage and dragging it, we cropped down the clip crop out anything that wasn't needed.
We then repeated this process with the other pieces of footage, dragging and dropping then cropping. While cropping we were taught to pay attention to the flow of the footage. So in the first clip, the student approaches the door and grabs the handle, in the second student's hand is on the handle and opens the door slightly, in the last the door is slightly open. Having a good flow between the clips hides the cuts as it seems believable to our brain.
